About Michael Howrilka

Graduated from SMCC in 2014 with a 3.89 GPA in Electrical Engineering Technology. I had an internship at Texas Instruments in South Portland over the summer and winter of 2013. Started full time as an Electrical Technician at Texas Instruments immediately after graduation. Worked in Ion Implant there for 18 months, where I learned as much as I could about automation and how different types of systems work together on one machine, and in one plant, to produce the desired result. I had interviewed with Lanco Integrated prior to graduating from SMCC, but the Controls Design position available at that time was given to an internal candidate. I was contacted by Lanco when the position became available again in September of 2015. I have gained knowledge and expertise working with dozens of different types of devices, integrating them into automated equipment with a focus on safety and reliability of process. I work with several software platforms daily, including AutoCAD, EPLAN, and the Microsoft Office suite of products. I have also had the opportunity to work on the assembly floor at Lanco and build my own electrical designs, which provided invaluable insight into the process.
