About Michael Hunter

As a seasoned Writer, Director, and Lecturer with over 10 years of experience, I specialize in creating original content across various media platforms, including short films, corporate videos, and showreels. Through my work with Totally Showreels and Totally Fictitious Films, I have crafted engaging and impactful content for a diverse range of clients, such as Enact, Social Elevators, and Newcastle City Council. This includes everything from producing corporate films and promotional content to developing podcasts like *Dog in the Pond*,*Ghostlight Social*, and *Séance & Sensibility*. My expertise extends beyond filmmaking into education, where I serve as a Lecturer in Screen Acting at Leeds Conservatoire, leading workshops and directing screen projects for students across all academic levels. My previous teaching role at CAPA College saw me managing group projects, teaching filmmaking, and grading assignments while helping students develop their skills in film production and screenwriting. In addition to my commercial and educational roles, I am an accomplished short film director. Recent projects include *Spring Offensive*(2023) and *Within Shadows*(2018), with my upcoming BFI short film,*LOVE/HATE*, currently in pre-production. I am also actively involved in industry programs, such as the PiPA Return & Retain cohort, which helps creatives re-engage with the industry post-parenthood, and I am currently a mentored writer at Paines Plough for the 2024/25 season.
