About Michael Joseph

Michael is a partner in the M&A tax services group in the Toronto office of RSM Canada. With over 15 years of public accounting experience, Michael provides cross border Canadian tax advisory services to clients both large and small in multiple industries including technology, retail and consumer products, real estate, and financial services. From an inbound perspective, Michael provides Canadian tax due diligence and Canadian tax structuring assistance to clients seeking to invest, hold or exit their Canadian investments. Michael also advises on financing and recapitalization transactions, corporate reorganizations and matters involving Treaty interpretation. From an outbound perspective, Michael advises clients on a variety of matters including managing foreign accrual property income and surplus issues, as well as ensuring compliance with all required reporting to the Canadian tax authorities. Michael regularly partners with contacts in the RSM International network to provide complete global coverage on any foreign tax issues that may arise.
