About Michael Jowell

I have several years of experience in tech support. I worked as an intern for a multimedia software company during high school and college, where I performed testing and made bug reports, and was customer support when our product launched. In the early I worked as a website developer for a local greeting card company. My main responsibility was to finish building their website. We used a server-side app called WebCatalog to manage our database and run our store. I started my current job as a field engineer but now manage our hardware configuration and field engineering department, which handles configuration and deployment of PCs,networking hardware, phones, and tablets. Our clients have a wide range of environments, including on-premises AD, Azure, hybrid, and domainless. I have seen this department though dramatic change, from configuring every PC manually, to scripting configs, to handling most configuration tasks through RMM automation, to imaging. I'm constantly trying to find ways to get things done more efficiently, and will never be finished editing documentation. I have the highest IT Glue rating in the history of this organization, my Reputation score is double that of the next hightest ranked engineer. TL;DR: I've created and edited a LOT of our documentation. I have twenty years of foodservice experience, including coffee shops, pizza, barbecue, fine dining, and baseball park catering. I'm meticulous about sanitation, time/temperature issues, plating, and product quality. I'm an Eagle Scout, an avid cyclist (MTB), and a musician. I've been playing bass guitar for decades, and sometimes mess around with percussion and synthesizer. Took piano lessons from my grandmother when i was a kid. I have been in a few bands and have some experience with live audio production and have spent a little time in the studio. I also used to spend a fair bit of time messing around with 3DS Max and Photoshop. Did some video editing for one of my old bands. Studied sculpture in college and loved metalworking. Dad has always been into building things, and took me to work with him a lot when i was a kid. I've helped out with almost every aspect of residential construction at some point in my life. I've also done some ranch work, Dad has always kept cattle.
