Michael earned an MBA from the University of Birmingham, UK. He was elected a student leader at the International Development Department(IDD)2001/2002. A dynamic project leader with robust leadership experience in program design, implementation, and management; proposal and new business development with strong expertise and a proven track record in management of numerous multi-million dollar USAID funded health programs in sub-Saharan Africa, including complex grants. Excels in complex and fast changing environments. He was leader of a 7 Year USAID game changing HIV/TB project in Uganda. Michael combines strategic thinking, versatility, and business savvy with natural leadership skills and a passion for excellence to deliver results in key performance areas. I enjoy a challenge and always push myself to constantly be out of my comfort zone. Innovation and technology excite me as it shapes the future. My passion is creating order from chaos, solving problems, and adding value wherever I’m planted. Extensive experience developing, supporting, and motivating teams to do better and to drive continuous improvements across a range of work activities. My journey has been marked by a relentless pursuit of excellence and a dedication to optimizing operations for peak performance. Proven experience in USAID and CDC project start-up and close-out activities and procedures, coordinating and collaborating with high level USG officials, host government, excellent leadership and management skills, leading multi-disciplinary teams, problem solving, personnel coaching and mentoring, strategic planning, contract negotiation, financial management, and high-value procurement oversight. Diverse executive skills include strategic planning, budget management and acquisition oversight across multiple portfolios.
