About Michael Karls

Having first worked for a CPA firm in New York City, I bring a tax, financial and legal background not often found in residential real estate. And this is great, except that there are so many other important skills and talents involved in guiding, advising and helping people through the home buying or selling process. When people are stressed, like when contemplating a big decision or purchase, the rational part of their brain quiets down and the emotional part takes over, making them quantifiably just a little bit nuts. Managing those ups and downs takes skill, patience, experience and understanding. I can recall one client telling me “Michael, I feel almost like I’m one of your kids – I’ll do whatever you tell me.” It’s a tremendous honor to help people, to have them put their faith and trust in you and to get them through whatever challenges inevitably arise. In my downtime from contract negotiations, client meetings and business development, I enjoy skiing Utah’s phenomenal mountains and spending time with my kids. They’re only four and six years old now, so it won’t be long until they’re off the bunny slopes and we’re thrashing the mountains together. Worthwhile goal, soon to be realized – entire family skiing and having fun together!
