Background

About Michael Keary

A consultant in environmental policy and climate change at where I am co-director, I conduct research, supply analysis, and provide training for organisations concerned with planning for the increasingly uncertain future. I am also an Affiliate Scholar at the Research Institute for Sustainability (RIFS) in Potsdam, where I previously completed a Research Fellowship working on the project "Transformational Technology and the Green Political Community: Rethinking Green Political Theory for the Digital Transition". I have been an academic and university teacher for over ten years and am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I obtained my PhD in International Politics from Aberystwyth University, where I also worked post-PhD. Subsequently, I held positions at Nazarbayev University and, until September 2022, at King's College London. I now live and work in Belgium. I have written a range of published academic articles, book chapters, and conference papers in environmental politics and policy and political theory. I am currently under contract with Bristol University Press for a book on political hatred. I have also been a line-manager and team-leader for several successful teams in the education sector.
