About Michael Kenny

I am a PE Teacher at Greystones Community College, where I plan and coordinate all PE classes, schemes of work, and curricula for different year groups. With over 12 years of experience in PE teaching and sports coaching, I am passionate about enhancing students' and players' learning, motivation, and enjoyment through innovative and evidence-based approaches. I am currently pursuing a Professional Doctorate at Dublin City University, investigating the implementation of a Digital Video Games Approach in both PE and sports coaching. This approach uses digital video game design principles to create engaging and meaningful learning environments and experiences. As a Coach Education Tutor for Leinster GAA, I share my expertise and passion for sports coaching and fitness training with aspiring and current coaches. I have also coached various GAA teams at different levels, devising and implementing strength, power, speed, mobility, and recovery programs, as well as on-pitch coaching and game plan development. I hold multiple certifications in sports coaching, including Award 2 GAA Coaching and Certified Conditioning Coach.
