About Michael Kerry

I describe myself as Confident, Trustworthy and Conscientious. With over 30 years in business starting on the shop floor in a Cash and Carry at 18, I took further education opportunities to study in Purchasing and Supply at night school. More recently I have attended Commercial Sales courses through Nick Girling Associates which have helped me in leadership roles, you never stop learning new skills. I have worked through most departmental areas in Retail, Wholesale, Supply and Customer Services roles at many different levels, so I have empathy and understanding of tasks involved in turning a plan from conception into action in order to achieve the desired outcome. My motivation is simple, I enjoy strategically planning and turning risks into opportunities, and opportunities into achieved goals. Simply put I enjoy turning stock into sales, whilst improving the companies stock turn and profitability. Ultimately the overall service to the customer in terms of quality, value and innovation is all important. I have over 20 years in Merchandising and Buying, and I believe this has given me the edge in a Commercial Sales role because I clearly understand my customers needs. I am very analytical and can dive into the detail, but commercially I see the bigger picture, and have the ability to cut through the noise that surrounds the final desired outcome. More recently the work I have been doing with NGA-Nick Girling Associates courses has given me some new skills that I wanted to use to help and support my own sales team. These skills have helped me with the approach I use with my colleagues at all levels who work along side me in my role at Blue Diamond Products.
