About Michael Knef

A seasoned Development Scientist with a solid background in chromatographic techniques, chemistries, and purification methods gained through extensive experience at Roche Molecular Diagnostics. I applied my extensive knowledge and skills in HPLC and spectroscopy techniques to develop, scale-up, and troubleshoot chromatographic and purification methods for DNA oligonucleotides. I contributed to the rapid production of PCR assays for COVID-19 and other virology projects, as well as to the development and drafting of SOPs, batch records, and best practices for newly developed products and processes, where we were cited for innovation by completion of a project that dramatically shortened production times. Proficient in scale-up processes, validation, and regulatory compliance, with a keen eye for troubleshooting and optimizing existing procedures. I personally developed Tangential Flow Filtration automatization techniques resulting in increased product recovery and a process time reduction of 2x-3x. In addition to my tenure at Roche as a scientist I have been studying Spanish for 2 1/2 years and recently took a pause in my working career to further develop my skills in Spanish as an adult language learner and expand my personal perspectives while traveling abroad in South America. I am a versatile, collaborative, and motivated scientist who values innovation, quality, and scientific excellence.
