About Michael Kobito

Michael Kobito is a music educator at Woodland High School in Cartersville, GA. A teacher at his alma mater, Michael was inspired to become an educator after encountering teachers that believed in him and inspired him to believe in himself. Everyday, his mission is to provide his students with the gifts of seeing their self worth and developing the skills to make the most out of their gifts. Michael teaches high school band and AP Music theory. He leads a band program that consists of multiple concert bands, marching band, jazz band, basketball pep band, pit orchestra, chamber ensembles, and a private lessons institute. The program is designed to give students as many opportunities to learn and be inspired through music. During his tenure as director, the band has been invited to perform at the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade in Washington D.C, the GMEA In-Service Conference, the Southeastern United States Honor Band Festival, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC, UGA’s Janfest Honor Band Festival, and they will be marching in the London New Years Day Parade in 2023. Michael serves as a guest speaker, clinician, adjudicator, and educator all across the state, leading leadership clinics, judging and providing comments for other band students and teachers, and speaking at events to inspire other educators to make the most of their outreach. He serves as associate conductor of Tara Winds, an adult community band, and as a guest conductor of the Georgia Brass Band.
