About Michael Lam

Michael Lam has his bachelor's and master's degrees in policy making and administration from England. He has worked in the field of employment services and training since 1990. Michael is currently the Director of Career & Youth Services Division at S.U.C.C.E.S.S, and works closely with the federal and provincial governments to address skill shortage issues and various programming for the under-represented populations, including immigrants, youth, mature workers, women, etc. Michael introduced the very first funded job mentoring program in B.C. with support from Human Resources and Skills Development Canada. Thanks to his strong passion with the Foreign Credential Recognition agenda, Michael has been initiating local and national partnerships with various industry sectors and piloted bridging programs for internationally-educated professionals as well as unique support services for employers to hire, develop and retain immigrants. Michael represents S.U.C.C.E.S.S. on different local and national committees such as the National Roundtable for Immigrant Youth on Workforce Development, National Visible Minority Labour Force Development Council, Overseas FCR Projects Working Committee, National Newcomer Labour Market Partnership, BC Canadian Asian Workforce Strategy Advisory Committee, BC Employment Access Strategy for Immigrants Leadership Council and BC’s Prior Learning Action Network, etc.
