About Michael Lieberman

In August 2022, I retired from a thirty-year career representing people charged with crimes who could not afford to hire private counsel. The last eight years were dedicated exclusively to representing men and women on death row in their final round of federal court appeals and clemency hearings. I retired to follow God’s call into prison ministry. My legal career blessed me with the opportunity to become deeply involved in the lives of men and women with varying degrees of brokenness and dysfunction in their lives. Those experiences led me to understand how much life change can come simply from being treated with the basic human dignity we are all born with and by exposure to God's unconditional love and acceptance. My new position as Academy Program Manager with Prison Fellowship allows me to continue following God’s call by pouring into the lives of men in prison.
