About Michael Limberger
Michael Limberger is Professor (hoogleraar) at the History Department at Ghent University. He studied at Vienna University and at the European University Institute at Florence and obtained his PhD. at the University of Antwerp. Before joining Ghent University he was active at the University of Antwerp (1994-2002), University of Amsterdam (2003-2004), Vesalius College (Brussels)(2003-2004) and the Catholic University of Brussels (2005-2007). His fields of research are economic and social history and financial history of the Early Modern Period and World History. Publications Sixteenth-century Antwerp and its Rural Surroundings Social and Economic Changes in the Hinterland of a Commercial Metropolis (ca. 1450 – ca. 1570)(European Studies in Urban History 14), Turnhout, 2008.
