I'm committed providing excellent, cutting-edge, patient-focused care and research, educating and serving patients and their relatives. Mentoring and teaching the next generation of physicians and medical professionals to enable them to lead in the areas of cardiovascular disease management, especially critical care, advanced cardiogenic shock, cardiopulmonary and multi organ failure, cardiac transplantation, acute and chronic mechanical circulatory support, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and thoracic organ procurement, and to achieve the highest standard of quality and excellence. During my professional career I had the privilege to build programs and services: establishing and leading successfully high volume cardiothoracic critical care units, heart failure, cardiac transplant and mechanical circulatory support programs in the US and in Germany. Over several decades serving as mentor and teacher brilliant individuals who are contributing today in leading positions patients on several continents.
