About Michael MacKenzie

I am a native Floridian, was born in Miami and raised in Tampa. I attended Georgia Tech and obtained a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering (BIE) degree in 1966. I worked in engineering at Lockheed-Georgia Company for 5 years on the C5-A program. During the last 4 years at Lockheed, I attended Emory University Law School at night, and graduated with a JD degree in 1972. I took and passed both the Georgia and Florida Bar exams, and was admitted to both bars. I later dropped my membership in the Georgia Bar because I decided I was probably never going to practice in Georgia. My first job as an attorney was with Macfarlane, Ferguson, Allison & Kelly, it its Clearwater, Florida office. I joined the Dunedin, Florida firm of Freeborn, Jennings, Mackenzie, and Ruggles, and remained in that firm for about 5 years, before leaving in 1981 to establish my own practice. I was affiliated with one other firm from 1986 to 1992 and that was the firm of Ruggles, Mackenzie and Langford, Clearwater, Florida. I have been a solo practitioner since, mostly in Dunedin, Florida.
