Background
About Michael Malysh
I just graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington. Throughout my academy journey, I have obtained a strong background in mechanical engineering, hands-on experience in innovative design, prototyping, iteration, and team management. I have honed my skills in software such as Solidworks and Autodesk Inventor. I also picked up moderate proficiency in Python, C, and Arduino. I have an ability to quickly learn new technical software and one of my notable achievements includes leading the Dragonfly Project, a graduation capstone project at the University of Washington. As the team lead, I oversaw the research, design, iteration, simulation, and construction of a four-rotor omni orientable quadcopter. Over the course of my senior year, my team and I conducted extensive structural simulations, produced several prototypes, and finally produced a successful drone prototype capable of hovering while rotating its entire chassis relative to its propellers, allowing orientation of the cargo in any direction. Some notable highlights from my career and academic journey are: · Conducted 10-20 pre-screening tests, exams, and procedures for customers to provide technical support in an eye care setting, completing 20-40% more tests/exams than team average while maintaining 4.7 stars for Google reviews · Conducted research to develop optimal bracket material in line with specific required parameters and designed, iterated, modeled, and ran simulations upon bracket meant to be used on a saltwater craft, achieving top 2 in class · Collaborated with team to design and prototype a sub system on a FIRST competition robot in Inventor, securing advancement to state competition · Designed and manufactured wheeled body for 3 consecutive annual long aerodynamic design competitions, advancing to national competition all 3 years and securing 7th nationally in 2018 I truly enjoy creative problem solving and working with engineering professionals to find innovative solutions.
