About Michael Manion

I have extensive PR experience in the public, private and non-profit sectors with increasing levels of responsibility in each position. I currently serve as Community Relations Director for the City of Southfield – a major municipality in southeast Michigan. The City of Southfield is an extremely diverse and progressive community of more than residents and over businesses, including more than 100 “Fortune 500” companies. In this capacity, I am responsible for all City public relations and information campaigns. I handle all media relations; write or edit all City-issued press releases, speeches and resolutions; manage the content on the City’s website and social media pages; and write, edit and design all City newsletters, annual reports and other collateral and public information materials. I have extensive experience in private sector and government public relations program planning and development as well as image, issues, and special events management. Specialties include: Integrated public relations & marketing campaigns, media relations, internal & external communications, crisis communications, interactive collateral material development (digital & print), website content development and maintenance and special events management.
