About Michael Marchant

Michael Marchant is a seasoned manager with a vast array of experience in project management, engineering, construction, and operations performing work for numerous clientele including multiple USDOD/DOE agencies, municipalities, special districts, and private industry firms. He possesses a unique ability to effectively bridge communications with craft personnel, executives, government representatives and clients to develop long lasting relationships and move projects to completion. Michael’s balanced approach to management permits him to envision both best-case and worst-cast scenarios, allowing him to identify risks, weigh benefits, and bring a practical “reality-check” to the operational vision. As an adaptive problem-solver, he also enjoys exploring conventional and creative alternatives to resolve challenges encountered in the workplace. Michael’s willingness to tackle tough challenges took him to Salt Lake City, where he was asked to take over management of a struggling office during the recession. By eliminating unnecessary expenses and implementing sound project management procedures, the office concluded the first year of management with its first profit since it was opened back in the 1990s. As part of a leadership team, Michael managed a national civil engineering design organization consisting of 26 personnel located in 9 cities throughout the United States and India. This team facilitated the transformation of multiple regional design groups into a single national design organization improving quality of engineering provided to over 50 offices and reducing corporate risk and liabilities. With a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Utah, Michael is a registered professional engineer in 6 states. He has traveled extensively throughout the United States and several foreign countries working on and overseeing personnel working on a variety of civil engineering projects.
