About Michael Marinelli

I've always been a believer in leaning into the things that we find difficult. Engineering and Software Development are no easy feat in my opinion, hence my interest and curiosity grew as my university years traversed into reality, working at BHP. The real world is really your oyster, and we are our own compass. We must reach for the tasks and skills we would like to achieve; become a bit of a cautious yes-man.Throughout my time at BHP I have leant into various tasks outside my comfort knowledge and have had to relearn whole systems before making changes, which in essence is the idea of an engineer, we reverse-engineer things to make things better. These systems at BHP include SAP Reliability Management, Improvements in reliability tasks and cycles.Secondly, the infrastructure that hosts the BHP Production network. This is quite the bohemeoth in which there are so many paths of management and improvement opportunities. This leads you down to more niche understandings of where you can delve into my current learnings that aid with design improvements such as RedHat Ansible, Python programming, ServiceNow Master Data Management, AD Grouping and Roles, PowerBI Dashboards. Utilising all of these skill sets requires a softer skill in people management which definitely helps things move more efficiently.
