About Michael Masiuk

I am a critical thinker and change agent with more than 20 years of success in forming partnerships to exchange knowledge and resources, provide enrichment opportunities, and leverage both university faculty and extension educators. My background includes progressive Extension Education leadership roles at Penn State University Cooperative Extension in Horticulture. I am particularly strong in leading people through large-scale organizational transformations by determining the potential impact of proposed programs, providing transparent communications, and engaging key stakeholders. Equally in attracting, developing, and empowering key talent and enabling teams to achieve organizational goals and objectives. For example, I co-developed a strategic plan for replicable programming that offered 200+ educational events to over people in one year, increasing program attendance 83% and fees by more than $100K. In that same period as Assistant Director of Extension, I introduced a new extension education approach that expanded the Master Gardener program to 60 counties. I also led an organizational change from a county-centric approach to education to statewide program delivery that allowed the University to provide programming across all 67 counties and also fostered collaboration between university faculty and extension educators.
