About Michael McGovern

MBA graduate and Lead Financial Analyst in healthcare with a wide variety of analytical experience.Until my move to San Diego for my wife's career, I worked as a Lead Financial Analyst in the Managed Care department at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. In this position, I analyze and project revenue for our various contracts with health insurance plans by using financial modeling software, run financial reports and analyze data to determine health plan performance across seven different facilities, and make recommendations used by senior management in contract negotiations with insurance agencies. I also keep the department website updated and organized while sending announcements out to hundreds of staff members about various plan policy changes. I have previously worked in pathology where I routinely audited the departments billing practices and analyzed pricing, charges, and reimbursement among many other responsibilities.My career has given me a solid foundation and appreciation for financial data analysis. I truly enjoy analytical work and see how crucial is for successful decision making in any company. I know that my growing experience with the analytical side of these decisions will give me the knowledge necessary to make correct, informed decisions in the future.
