Background

About Michael McGrath

Author: Autonomous Vehicles: Opportunities, Strategies, and Disruptions; contributor to Seeking Alpha; Editor/author of Autonomous Vehicles Transforming Transportation. For the last five years, I've focused my research and writing on autonomous vehicles because they will catalyze the most profound change of this century. Autonomous Vehicles: Opportunities, Strategies, and Disruptions is available on Amazon. In addition to my research on autonomous vehicles, I currently serve as chairman of the board of National Instruments (NATI). I've been fortunate to have had a broad and successful career, starting as the co-founder of PRTM in 1976 and its Managing Director for 26 years. During that time I created PACE, which became the standard process for product development, and formalized and branded the SCOR model, which has served as the standard supply-chain process reference model. After I retired from PRTM, I had new professional opportunities, starting with doing a turnaround at i2 Technologies (ITWO) from 2005 to 2007. I later became a board member and chairman at Entrust (ENTU) until it was sold in July 2009. I served as executive chairman at Thomas Group (TGI). I also created Decide Better to help businesses and individuals achieve increased success through better decisions. I've written more than a dozen books. The Decide Better series included: Decide Better for a Better Life (2008), Decide Better for College (2009), Business Decisions (2009), and The Wit and Wisdom of Decisions ( 2016). The product development and product strategy series included: PACE (1990 and 1993), Product Strategy for High-Technology Companies (1994 and Next Generation Product Development (2003), and Understanding and Applying Product Platform Strategy (2016). The Autonomous Vehicles series includes: Autonomous Vehicles: Opportunities, Strategies, and Disruptions (2018 and 2020) and A Beginners Guide to Autonomous Vehciles (2019). Specialties: Corporate Governance, Autonomous Vehicles, Self-Driving Cars, Technology Strategy, Decision Making, Supply Chain, Product Strategy, Product Development, and Business Turnaround.
