About Michael McGraw

Michael is an experienced litigator with significant experience across many practice areas including general commercial litigation, restructuring and insolvency and construction law. Michael has been responsible for the management, supervision and resolution of a wide range of issues. These include issues related to banking, construction, fraud, pensions, financial services, insurance, labour and employment, real estate, intellectual property, tax, securities, fraud, class actions, environmental, general corporate, landlord-tenant, criminal, quasi-criminal and Aboriginal law. In the context of insolvency law, his practice focuses primarily on the enforcement of security and property rights, restructurings, priority disputes, equipment leasing, claims processes and other issues that arise in the context of insolvencies, creditors’ rights, collections and other proceedings. Michael regularly appears before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice (Regular Civil and Commercial Lists), the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Bankruptcy Court on behalf of Canadian, U.S. and foreign creditors, debtors, financial institutions, multinational corporations, manufacturers, retailers, service providers, and court-appointed receivers, monitors and trustees. He also represents clients in mediations and other proceedings. Michael is a former employee and volunteer with Hockey Canada (formerly the Canadian Hockey Association) where he was responsible for the adminstration of international and national regulations governing competition and player eligibility, appeals, and the development and implementation of national safety programs including education and awareness programs committed to the prevention of abuse and harassment in hockey.
