I'm an Air Force veteran who loves helping others. Service before self is a core value of the Air Force and has been a guiding principle for me throughout my post military career. All of my previous experience has centered around helping people, either directly or indirectly. As Operations Lead for AlgEternal I was responsible for the growth and development of a product that helped people reduce their dependence on old NPK fertilizers. Our algae helped people see increased yields whether they were growing tomatoes at home or hundreds of acres of corn. My time as a contractor for FEMA is an example of getting to help people directly. I worked in the Houston area after Hurricane Harvey and the Miami area post Hurricane Irma. I assessed damage in an accurate and timely manner to ensure people were able to get the help they needed from FEMA to rebuild.My GIS experience has centered around helping people both directly and indirectly. Ensuring proper 911 addressing is crucial to receiving timely responses to 911 calls while ensuring accurate maps through Apple's map app helps people get to the right place without unnecessary detours.Although my experiences might seem unconnected or random at first glance, they all share one common attribute, getting to help people. It's what drives me and gives me purpose in both my personal and work life.
