About Michael McNally
Michael is on his 30th year in the fire service and has been involved in many facets of Public Safety with starting as a volunteer firefighter in 1993. Michael started as a fire explorer 33 years ago in Coral Springs. Michael spent three years working for dispatch communications in Coral Springs from 1994-1997. In 1997, Michael went into Public Safety as a Law Enforcement Officer / Firefighter for Coconut Creek Public Safety Department. Michael then moved on to Parkland Public Safety Department in 2001. Through this time, Michael was responsible for providing law enforcement and fire fighter training to the members of the department. Served as a corporal for the law enforcement division and a lieutenant for the fire division. In 2004 the Coral Springs Fire Department entered into agreement to provide fire and medical services to the City of Parkland. Michael has been involved with the Coral Springs Fire Academy as an instructor since 2002 and has a true passion for training. In 2008 Michael obtained a bachelors in Organizational Leadership from St. Thomas University. In February 2009 Michael was promoted to Battalion Chief and assigned to Bravo shift operations. In January 2011 Michael was promoted to Assistant Chief responsible for the Fire Academy and Training. Michael along with all of the instructors worked extremely hard and won the prestigious Florida Fire Service and Training Education Provider of the Year award in 2011 and again in 2013. This brings the academy to wining this award a total of 3 times. Michael has a Graduate Degree in Emergency Services Management through Columbia Southern University. In August 2013, Michael received his Chief Training Officer (CTO) designation through the Center for Public Safety Excellence. In March 2014, Michael was promoted to Deputy Chief of Professional Standards and Training. In July of 2014 Michael received his Chief Fire Officer designation through the Center for Public Safety Excellence. Michael was promoted as the 12th Fire Chief for Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department on February 5th, 2020. Michael has been a member of FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Florida Task Force 2 since 2006 and serves as a Rescue Team Manager. He has been deployed go multiple disaster la to include Haiti earthquake 2010, Hurricane Michael 2018, and Champlain Towers Collapse in Surfside FL in 2021. Michael has operation as branch or operations section chief in the Emergency Operations Center for multiple hurricanes and as Safety and Security for global pandemic covid-19 for the City of Coral Springs
