About Michael Means

My personal mission is to help clients by providing un-biased, comprehensive financial reviews, including one of the largest factors - taxes. As a CFP® and CPA, I serve dual roles of Planning Associate with SignatureFD’s Charlotte office and Senior Tax Manager with our affiliated CPA partner, Frazier and Deeter, LLC. I focus on high-net-worth families and closely held businesses to provide thorough tax and financial planning strategies. Prior to joining SignatureFD and Frazier and Deeter, I worked as an advisor with a Charlotte-based wealth advisory firm, where I prepared financial plans, oversaw the client on-boarding process, and researched complex tax issues. I gained the majority of my eleven years of tax experience at one of the largest 40 accounting firms in the nation, Elliott Davis, PLLC, for over seven years. I hold both a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting and Finance from Winthrop University in South Carolina. I am a Certified Public Accountant licensed in North Carolina and South Carolina, a Certified Financial Planner, and a Personal Financial Specialist. I am active in the Charlotte business community as a Knowledge Committee Member of the FPA of Charlotte, and I am a member of the North Carolina Association of CPAs.
