About Michael Mills

I have seen and experienced for myself the deep impact and effects of the wilderness. I believe there is no better way to learn about yourself and your own capabilities than to be surrounded by nature without the distractions of modern conveniences. I have over 20 years of experience in the Utah Army National Guard. A few of those years I served in Iraq. I believe the greatest enemy for any individual is themselves, and each one of us are combating our fears, anxieties, anger, sadness, ambivalence and addictions. I believe that each one of us have the capacity to do great things and be great people if only we can be victorious in our battles with our own enemies. I have come to understand how important it is to be a part of a team that functions well and look towards the treatment team for support and strength. I believe change for most comes from motivation, perspective, and the knowledge and skills to move forward. Sometimes a shift in one of these factors can be the catalyst for improving ones self. I take a look at my client/couple/family and find where the deficiencies are in these three areas and I start from there.
