About Michael Monn

I want to bring clarity to complex engineering problems and build organizational consensus on how to solve them. I believe this starts with R&D that focuses on creativity and communication. My approach combines simplified physics models and experimental validation to distill key parameters and explore problem landscapes faster. Right now I'm applying this strategy at Saint-Gobain Aerospace to develop simulation tools to de-risk the development of products, like aircraft windshields and satcom radomes, that have complex physics and high dimensional performance metrics. When each simulation takes <1 second and data is presented interactively, we build intuition faster, enable more people to participate and discover designs we would have never considered with traditional methods.
