About Michael Morris

Ever since I can remember, I have been passionate about all watersports - in particular, wakeboarding and surfing. While in college at UCF, I could not find (or afford!) the surfboard I wanted, so I decided to build my own. How did I start this project when I had no experience? I researched material prices, watched tutorials on shaping and fiberglassing, rolled up my sleeves, and built my first board – all to my exact specifications. Shortly afterward, word got out that I was building surfboards, and that first surfboard led to referrals from friends and selling boards on various social media sites. It was so rewarding to take my hobby and start a side gig, Blue Dawn Surfboards. Why tell this story? I built a reputation as a self-starter with razor-sharp attention to detail, who is flexible, collaborative with my clients, and always meets deadlines. I bring these talents and focus to all sized endeavors, whether during my college team projects, my part-time job at FedEx, or my experience at Blue Dawn. At Fidelity Investments, I lean on my client collaboration skills and experience to educate 401K participants on their benefit options.
