About Michael Morton

I recently graduated Suma Cum Laude from Georgia State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. I have project experience in data science with a concentration in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. I have completed three semester long individual projects dealing with Machine Leaning/ Deep Learning. The three individual project are: “Using Random Forest Regression to Forecast Infections and Fatalities Due to COVID-19 in the Southeast United States," “Detecting Bacterial and Viral Pneumonia in Chest X-Rays Using Deep Learning Models,” and “Using Random Forest Classifier to Forecast Infections and Fatalities Due to COVID-19 per Country.” I also have completed two semester long group projects. The first group project created a database for an event arena and was completed using waterfall methodology. The second project created a University Management System for Georgia State University students which included a database and comprehensive website. This project was completed using agile methodology. Through these projects and classes I have gained fluency in Java and Python, and I have also grained limited experience using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, C, C, Assembly, Awk, and Bash. I am very passionate about Computer Science. I left my old career as a laboratory technician in order to go back to school so that I would be able to begin a new career in Computer Science.
