About Michael Murphy

From a young age, my fascination with the automotive industry began as I worked at a busy workshop, diligently washing cars. Those experiences revealed three significant aspects: the thriving nature of the business, skilled technicians meticulously disassembling vehicles, and the strong camaraderie among mechanics. These encounters left an indelible impression, igniting my passion for this field. Eager to expand my knowledge, I embarked on an ambitious journey after completing school, pursuing two apprenticeships concurrently—one in electrical work and the other in mechanical engineering. This propelled me headfirst into the world of automotive expertise. Following my apprenticeships, I gained valuable experience at the dealership level, working with multiple manufacturers. Eventually, I found my professional home at Mazda, where I served as head mechanic. Here I had the privilege of being inducted into the esteemed Mazda Masters Program. I thrived on the challenges, progressing to the roles of foreman and service advisor. Over time, I rose to the esteemed position of service manager, leading the department for a fulfilling seven-year period. However, as I reached the limits of growth within Mazda in Launceston, my wife and I made a bold decision to sell up and relocate to Melbourne. This move granted me the opportunity to fulfil my long-standing dream of charting my own course. In 2014, I acquired and began managing Rapid Tune Chadstone. Through unwavering dedication and an unyielding commitment to excellence, Rapid Tune Chadstone achieved numerous accolades over nine years. This success led me to contribute directly to the organization's head office as a consultant. In this role, I provided technical advice, conducted training sessions, facilitated development programs, and served as a motivational force for various Rapid Tune sites in Victoria. Additionally, I took on project management responsibilities, leveraging my expertise to drive successful outcomes. In 2021, I ventured into new horizons by establishing ADAS Mobile Solutions—a mobile business tailored to support trade-based enterprises, automotive workshops, and paint and panel shops. Our specialization lies in conducting calibrations for all ADAS systems, including advanced driver assistance systems and module programming. My journey has been defined by an unwavering work ethic and a steadfast commitment to personal growth. I eagerly anticipate continuing on my professional path, leveraging my expertise to empower others and contribute to the advancement of the automotive industry.
