About Michael Muwonge

Michael Muwonge has eight (8) years of practical experience in delivery of context appropriate programs within Humanitarian and Development Nexus. With a niche in social protection and care, Michael has specialized training and a broad array of implementation competency in areas of Graduation programming, Livelihood and Economic inclusion, Youth Skilling, Food Security and Nutrition, Agribusiness, Protection, Private Sector engagements and Market Systems Development. Michael has worked with various categories of people; ultra-poor, youth and adolescents, orphans and vulnerable children, people with chronic illness including HIV/AIDS, people with disability, Refugees and internally displaced persons. He started his career with AVSI Foundation as a Mentor where he rose to senior positions within a span of two years. He has since worked with several NGOs and I-NGOs in different districts of Uganda implementing complex multi-sectoral projects. He currently works with AVSI Foundation as the Senior Program Officer Livelihood for USAID-BHA Graduating to Resilience Scale Activity in Lamwo district, Northern Uganda. He is passionate about working with marginalized and vulnerable communities across the globe using integrated sustainable market approaches. Michael holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Kysmbogo University and currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Makerere University. He has laudable capacity building and development skills in areas of Financial Literacy, Enterprise development, VSLA, Business Coaching and social asset building including Life skills and parenting.
