About Michael Numberger

I am an expert for the simulation and design of electric motors and electric powertrains in the system perspective. Starting off with the background of a vehicle engineer, I have been passionately contributing to the Formula Student project during my Bachelor and Master studies for 4 years - 3 years focused on electric racecars as powertrain lead. The hobby of my 20s was a detail obsessed restauration of a 67’ VW Käfer. Throughout my professional career, I have been lucky to participate and drive some of the most ambitious and exciting e-motor projects in motorsports and aviation. Performing the electromagnetic design and simulation of these motors, aside of system simulation and optimization and finally being responsible for these projects has been my role and dedication. I have profound knowledge in physics and modelling (FEM, Matlab/Simulink, Ansys), in mechanical design (CAD), as well as prototyping and manufacturing of basically all existing machine topologies and its corresponding production processes alongside the personality to inspire and lead a team through the process in time and budget. I worked for companies of all sizes. 2010, I started for the global player Siemens, grew in the mid-sized company Compact Dynamics and later joined the Start-Up Dynamic E Flow. Since April 2018, I am an entrepreneur myself. Currently, I focus on my project ‘hyperdrives’ and work as a freelance consultant in parallel. My expertise covers a wide range of challenging tasks in the electric drivetrain development – from recruiting to due diligence, from magnet to semiconductor. My personality and working style are goal-oriented, open-minded and straight-forward. I am fluent in English and love to connect with people of all nationalities and cultures.
