About Michael Oboyle

Michael “Mike” O’Boyle is a distinguished senior healthcare executive with over 40 years of demonstrated success in developing and leading strategic initiatives, improving financial performance, and driving operational excellence. Over the last decade, following the establishment of his own consultancy (O’Boyle & Co.), Mike has served both public and private enterprises in numerous capacities, including as a consultant, operating partner, executive in residence, and portfolio company executive chair and board member. He recently retired from full-time service as the CEO of private equity backed Ventra Health (Ventra) and currently serves as the company’s Vice-Chairman. Ventra is a diversified, technology enabled, physician-oriented revenue cycle management company formed by the merger of three independent organizations followed by the acquisition of an offshore captive. Mike led the organization through its integration planning and execution, a total rebranding of the platform, the establishment and growth of a new advisory services division, and its early-stage cultural alignment. Earlier in his career, Mike was a corporate officer and senior executive for some of the world’s leading healthcare organizations. He directed the initial commercialization of Parallon for HCA as the company’s President and CEO; he served the United Health Group as President of United Health Networks, managing provider-based contractual and service relationships for all of United Healthcare’s lines of business serving its 25+ million members; he was successively the CFO and COO for the Cleveland Clinic, recognized across the globe for its expertise in healthcare delivery, scientific research and education; and he held various senior executive positions with Medstar Health, a major provider of healthcare services to the Baltimore/Washington, DC metropolitan region. Throughout his career, in addition to his executive appointments, Mike has also provided leadership to a number of other organizations. Illustrative examples include Co-Chairmanship of the Healthcare Cabinet for the United Way of Greater Cleveland; membership on the Boards of Directors of Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI), United Medicorp Inc, and Hospital Billing and Collection Services Ltd.(HBCS) where he served as Chairman for 3 years; and for 13 years, as a Trustee of St. Catherine University in St. Paul, MN. Mike is a summa cum laude graduate of DeSales University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
