About Michael Ocallaghan

I am a Senior Analyst at the UCD Centre for Cybersecurity & Cybercrime Investigation (CCI), where I lead a team of six professionals specialising in project and product management, software development, and training design. Over the past seven years, I have managed complex projects, overseen the creation of software tools to support law enforcement, and developed training programmes to combat cybercrime across Europe. Prior to this, I spent 11 years in the Irish Defence Forces, where I developed a strong foundation of personal and professional skills. In 2013, I transferred to the CIS Corps as an Electronic Engineer, eventually serving in the Air Corps CIS Wing. I was promoted in 2015 and participated in three overseas missions – one in Chad and two in Lebanon. My academic background includes two master’s degrees: one in Forensic Computing and Cybercrime Investigation, and most recently, an MSc in Cybersecurity. With extensive experience in project leadership, software development, and training programmes, I am passionate about delivering innovative solutions that support global law enforcement and advance cybersecurity efforts.
