About Michael Oconnor

Business Valuations are my specialised area of expertise,working with legal practitioners in the Family Law sector. Using almost 50 years experience in the sector, both in Ireland and Australia,my approach is different to most existing service providers. Asset revaluations, identification of net distributable cash and a forensic approach to EBITDA modelling are used in assessing the valuation amount. This has provided my legal partners with a higher baseline in negotiating a higher settlement figure for our client, compared to more traditional valuation parameters. Experience shows that the best outcomes are achieved when I attend the settlement discussions or court hearings in person. This facilitates a quicker resolution process. Other areas of strength for me include talent spotting, coaching and solution finding. My organisational and planning skills enabled me to be a winner both in the workplace and in motorsport, where I was a leading event manager and a winning driver. Mentoring, succession and exit planning, project work and general business guidance are some of the areas into which I can bring expertise and value.
