Background

About Michael Osborne

This week I finished at Mainfert and about to start a new challenging role with Pastoral Improvements Ltd as their fertiliser manager and agronomist. I have been working with Canterbury farmers for over 12 years to help them improve their animal health, pasture and crop production, and fertiliser efficiency. With a science background in chemistry and extensive experience in farming, I provide tailored advice and solutions to meet the diverse needs of dairy farms, high country stations, arable and other types of farming operations. I also ensure that our work is environmentally sustainable and respects the importance of maintaining soil and water health. In addition to my past role at MainFert, I am also an Owner Trainer & Thoroughbred Owner, running a training establishment for breaking-in and training thoroughbred racehorses. I have been involved in this field for many years, using leading edge technical methods and reporting systems to assist with the training process. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and skills with others, and I enjoy seeing the progress and achievements of the horses and the people I work with.
