About Michael Parkinson

A Senior Technical Programme Manager with strong technical and managerial experience across a wide range of ERP, e-commerce, content management and mobile platforms developed both in house and using a variety of off shore resources. Coming from a manufacturing back ground I have spent the last 20 years exploring and developing my Agile and Lean skills and continue to evangelise Agile, Lean and DevOps ways of working with the focus on delivering business value quickly and effectively. During the 90’s I managed and developed a cutting edge e-commerce platform and in house payment solution, during the 00’s I worked in Digital Agencies and initiated my Off Shoring journey and then followed this by moving to Tecso Dotcom and worked in both the food and non-food digital areas of Tesco. I was one of the key drivers of Agile Adoption in Tesco Dotcom, BAT and River Island and continue to learn every day. Highly energised and motivated I look for roles that are both challenging and fast paced and allow me to utilise my hands on experience but also roles that provide me with new experiences, new technologies and new ways of working. I have travelled extensively within my previous roles in order to set up and drive Agile initiatives using a range of off and on shore teams and are constantly looking seeking to improve and learn from these experiences.
