About Michael Passage
My name is Michael Passage, assistant professor at Montana State University Billings and a doctoral candidate at the Florida Institute of Technology under Dr. Katie Nicholson's advisement. I earned a Master of Science from Temple University with a published thesis in the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis. As a practicing board certified behavior analyst, I have provided therapy and consultation to school-based and home-based programs for children of varying ages and diagnoses. My research interests include cultural selection, group contingencies, choice-making, self-control, and discounting. Recently, the Florida Association of Behavior Analysis awarded me The Behavior Change for a Sustainable World Research Award. My current projects include research examining (a) the effects of individual and group contingencies on altruistic responses,(b) the environmental factors that influence self-control responding in a delay-of-gratification procedure,(c) a quantitative analysis of self-control studies, and (d) for my doctoral dissertation I am examining the cultural selection of altruistic responding.
