Leadership sought to minimize future capital expense, exploit market cloud capabilities and free up internal staff for future digital initiatives. Gartner guided the client through the strategy (service bundles, performance expectations, Operating Model impacts), RFP development, bid & pricing reviews and vendor selection to identify the vendor with greatest value and alignment to client organization. 3) Conducted an IT Spend assessment at a downstream oil & gas company. Growing cost pressures led to demands to compare costs to industry peers and identifies potential sources of optimization. Selected industry peers for top-down comparison of IT costs while analyzing its outsourcing contract for deficiencies to market. Gartner identified multi-million USD opportunities to improve performance, service delivery resiliency and reduce risk. 4) Developed an ERP strategy for division of an aerospace & defense manufacturer — Aging Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and challenging business markets drove business leadership to seek a strategy to better support its multimode manufacturing environment. Worked with business leadership to define differentiating requirements for its critical business needs (after-market service, international), viable multitier ERP options, deployment sequencing and detailed business case for President’s approval.
