About Michael Pedowitz

I am a senior Physics major and Creative Writing minor at The College of New Jersey. I have conducted undergraduate research on supermassive black holes and on planets that orbit two stars. I have presented results from both studies national astronomy conferences. I have also worked as a planetarium technician at TCNJ for almost two years. I have developed, scripted, and presented several original shows that explore how astronomy has influenced global cultures and popular movies, the relationships between space and holidays, and on the nature and evolution of the universe. I have also worked as a planetarium educator at the Edelman Planetarium at Rowan University, further refining my presentation skills. The fusion of astronomy and storytelling has long been integral to humanity's perceptions of the night sky and our place in the universe. Exploring this connection - and inspiring those around me to explore the beauty of outer space - is my main goal. Ultimately, I wish to work with planetariums, museums, and studios that produce astronomy-oriented content for public audiences. In my spare time, I have written several screenplays, direct short films at a small production studio, and am writing and revising my first novel.
