I work in the tax group of Wipfli's Duluth office with an emphasis in Not-For-Profit and Health Care tax compliance. I work with our clients that file the Form 990 and 990-PF as well as other state charitable requirements to provide the public and stakeholders with complete and accurate information. Some of my responsibilities include- Planning for and Reviewing the Form 990, 990-T, 990-PF - Communicating with Clients regarding their needs and concerns with changing tax law and interpretation - Training Staff on the preparation of Charitable Forms and other exempt entity tax compliance - Improving efficiencies with tax return process - Reducing redundancy in client request memos - Introducing templates and reconciliation schedules into preparation process - Utilizing simple checklists for maximizing accuracy - A part of the firm’s Knowledge Base - Nonprofit Group - Researching and reviewing documentation on tax regulations affecting the industry. Including the Final 501(r) regulations in regard to the Affordable Care Act, Private Letter Rulings, and IRS & Treasury released guidance- Contributing to relevant material presented internally to the firm affecting our exempt client's and prospects- Fielding technical questions and situations through our firm-wide research platform
