Manages a program division of 20 + staff from various technical disciplines (IT, engineering, program analysts, etc) to produce and manage the annual Toxics Release Inventory (TRI). Also provides programmatic direction to coordinators in EPA's ten regional offices to implement TRI at the field level. The TRI is the most comprehensive report on the release of toxic chemicals into the environment produced in the US, covering over 650 chemicals produced by over industrial facilities. TRI is recognized internationally as the leading chemical release inventory in the world. The TRI Division develops and distributes reporting software to assist industries in compliance, manages the collection and processing of over forms of data each year, and issues an annual summary report on findings and national trends. TRI data is accessed by thousands of users daily over the internet, and is used throughout the environmental community, academia, and a wide variety of other venues. TRI data is often cited by major US corporations to their shareholders as a measurement tool to show environmental progress. The Division makes TRI information available electronically through reports, on-line tools, and large scale file transfers. Other federal agencies such as the National Library of Medicine incorporate the data into their tools.
