About Michael Plainte

I proudly served in the U.S. Navy for eight years on active duty and five years in the reserves as a Hospital Corpsman, earning an honorable discharge. Following my military service, I obtained a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from FSW. However, my passion for the outdoors and the firearms industry led me to pursue a different path. In 2015, I launched a successful charter fishing business and spent five years as a sponsored professional angler. Working with companies such as Lowrance, Power Pole, Railblaza, Hobie, and many more while fishing the FLW tour along with the EKFT series. This opportunity showed me the need for enthusiasts to join the business and development side of the industry to ensure the continued growth and success of our industry. This experience allowed me to develop strong leadership, marketing, product development, and customer service skills. My career then pivoted to the firearms industry, where I partnered with the owners and management team to open and manage one of Florida’s most successful firearms dealers and shooting ranges. In June 2023, I embraced a new opportunity as the Office Manager for Sportsman’s Warehouse at their newest location in Cape Coral, FL. My current focus is on excelling in this role while working toward my long-term goal of sharing my knowledge, expertise, and experience at a higher level within the company to assist in the successful development and growth of our beloved outdoor industry.
