About Michael Plum

I have spent over 25 years as a criminal and fraud investigator, between law enforcement and the insurance industry, and am always looking for a new challenge. I have experience in dealing with very large and complicated investigations. Working both in the public and private sector, I have gained a lot of knowledge and experience on how to handle investigations and investigate those that commit fraud. This ever changing world makes working with all generations challenging, but that is what makes work more exciting. I currently work as an SIU investigator for one of the fastest growing insurance companies, handling all types of field and desk investigations. I handle medical clinic inspections and auto/property/ medical fraud investigations. Prior to working for AmFam I spent 18 years at the O'Fallon MO Police Department, where I spent the last several years as a Lieutenant. I was the watch commander for one of 3 patrol shifts. Along with supervising my shift of sergeants, patrol officers and confinement officers I also supervised the DRE unit and the Honor Guard unit. I was also involved in setting up the St. Charles County DWI Task Force. I held prior positions of Sergeant, Detective and Patrol Officer. I was certified as an SFST instructor, DRE instructor, FTO, Advanced bicycle officer, Crash Reconstructionist, Taser instructor and as MO POST Generalist Instructor. I instructed classes at the Eastern Missouri Police Academy, St. Louis County Police Academy, Missouri Highway Patrol Academy and for MO DARE and MO SRO associations.
