About Michael Pole

I’m passionate about all things technology and love to solve complex technical problems by having a curious mind and always looking to find the “why”. With this understanding complex problems can be solved and broken down into creative solutions to deliver actionable outcomes. I aim to make the complex simple by removing the BS. Throughout my career I have focused on core infrastructure and networking and more recently moving into Azure architecture and platform engineering, DevOps automation and team leadership. Domain Knowledge- Team leadership focused on infrastructure platform engineering and delivery- Azure architecture and design, governance and security standards, aligning to Microsoft well architected framework- Infrastructure Platform engineering based on Azure native cloud technologies- Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines design, Terraform, ARM Templates, PowerShell, Azure CLI- Enterprise network architecture design and deployment. Including Azure cloud networking, datacentre, head office / branch office.(Cisco routing and switching, DNA Centre, SDWAN)- Network security, Palo Alto Networks firewall deployments both physical and cloud. Global Protect, WildFire, security policies, threat detection, etc- Security operations, controls, risk mitigation, IDAM.
