About Michael Powell

I have been with Amazon my entire career, for which I am blessed. I have worked in Amazon.com (Consumer Goods) and AWS (Cloud Computing). I have many accomplishments I'm proud of across both of those business lines, but I would like to highlight 2 of them here. At Amazon.com, I launched a new Last Mile Delivery station (DKY9) in Northern Kentucky, which served the Central KY, Northern KY, Southern OH, and Southern IN area. At AWS, I spearheaded initiatives to analyze business processes, leading to more efficient and environmentally compliant workflows from US Data Center Operations into the AWS Reverse Logistics. This led to more accurate, and streamlined disposition for AWS hardware into the various recovery paths (Reuse, Vendor Replacement [RMA], Recycle). Building on this, AWS Reverse Logistics was then spun off into a subsidiary company called re:Cycle Reverse Logisitcs. So in that regard, I was a launch team member of a new company. My largest contribution was creating and managing the returns processes for parts under warranty with NVIDIA. This returns program led to 24M in cost avoidance by my departure in April 2024.
