About Michael Riebel

I am an urbanist, researcher, and architect with a passion for spatial analysis and social impact. I have two decades of academic and professional experience working on architectural and urban design projects, always focusing on understanding how humans interact with the built environment. I am a big fan of evidence-based design. As a Senior Researcher, I am leading the research team at Hawkins\Brown, with a focus on GIS technologies, brief development, post-occupancy evaluation (POE) and social value. I support and carry out a wide spectrum of projects at Hawkins\Brown, including specialist research projects such as an award-winning post-occupancy evaluation of Chobham Manor for the LLDC. I also secured Hawkins\Brown's participation in an international research consortium looking at the future of STEM education that includes (amongst others) the University of West Norway, the Louvre and the Institute of Education in Edinburgh.
