About Michael Robertson

An innovative leader driving environmental sustainability within the cemeteries industry, Michael Robertson is CEO of the largest provider of cemetery services to the South Australian community. Adelaide Cemeteries Authority is a self-funded statutory authority of the state government, owning and caring for Enfield Memorial Park, Smithfield Memorial Park, Cheltenham Cemetery and the historic West Terrace Cemetery. Michael spearheaded industry-leading investment and certification which saw Adelaide Cemeteries Authority install the first low-emission European standard cremators in Australia and become the only cemetery in the nation to hold internationally recognised environmental accreditation. He also oversaw the design of the newly opened $25 million Evergreen Community Precinct, a multi-function community facility at Enfield Memorial Park. Michael is passionate about ensuring cemeteries remain integral parts of the local communities in which they operate. He is proud to hold strong relationships with many religious and cultural groups in South Australia. Michael has more than 20 years’ executive management experience and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA). He is also a Director of the Australasian Cemeteries and Crematoria Association (ACCA) and Treasurer of the Cemeteries and Crematoria Association of South Australia (CCASA).
